The best ski resort in Eastern Europe is set in the southwest part of Bulgaria, 160 km from Sofia, at the foot of the Pirin Mountaun. Bansko has a very attractive combination of wonderful nature and the romantic atmosphere of the town centre, which is a listed World Heritage Site. Skiers of all abilities are welcome to try the 65 kms of marked ski runs, easily accessible by the Gondola lift and a number of chair lifts and drag lifts. Bansko is famous for its excellent cuisine and friendly taverns, offering dishes in the atmosphere of traditional songs. The winter here lasts from December till April, the average January temperature being 2C with heavy snowfalls.

Boroverts is the first ski resort in Bulgaria - it is situated at an altitude of 1350 m in the Rila Mountain, only 73 km from Sofia and 126 km from Plovdiv. The average January temperature is about 4C, the ski runs vary in degree of difficulty and are suitable for beginners and advanced skiers. The well-developed lift network is able to carry up to 15 5oo clients per hour, thus providing very quick access to the mountain slopes.
Borovets is well known for its great nightlife the biggest night clubs are located at hotel Samokov and hotel Rila.

Pamporovo is the sunniest winter resort in Europe offering an ideal combination for a winter holiday plenty of snow and plenty of sunshine. The resort is set high in the south of the Rhodope Mountain where, according to the legend, Orpheus, the mythical singer, had lived. Pamporovo is located at an altitude of 1620 m above the sea level, 85 km from Plovdiv city and 250 km from Sofia, the average January temperature is about 3C, the average number of sunny days in the winter is 120.Pamporovo is a ski-centre for all categories of skiers. It has excellent ski runs even including a Giant Slalom, as well as first class lift network.
